Cyrosphere 3:: Lives Mingling Together Page 2
Ginger asks, “Do you win?”
Yvette sighs and responds, “Nine out of ten times. So I must be doing something right. Say, why are you awake this late?”
Ginger states, “I just woke up. My days have been a little strange. I’m not quiet sure the end result.”
Yvette says, “Duh. Where is the fun in that? Life is filled with possibilities. Have some warm milk and go to bed immediately.”
Yvette’s warm laugh fills the room, as she gets off the stool. She leaves Ginger alone with her thoughts. Ginger took her advice, and surprisingly enough the warm milk did help ease her worries. In moments she was upstairs, back under the sheets and drifting off to sleep.
Chapter Ten:
Ginger learned a lot from her parents. For instances, taking matters into her own hands and that was exactly what she planned to do today. She’d call Frost after breakfast.
Once she got downstairs, she saw Yvette making oatmeal to go with the bagels they bought. After breakfast, Aaron did the dishes and Stacey asked if she wanted to tag along.
The determined look in her eyes, scared Ginger a little but she might need to help control the situation so agreed.
Ginger ask, “Where we going?”
Stacey replies, “To visit my aunt.”
She thinks, “This can get bad real quick.”
The drive from Westchester to Manhattan Beach was a quick twenty-two minutes. In that time, Ginger didn’t come up with any kind of plan or contingence of what might happen.
She felt powerless in this situation. Maybe she shouldn’t have come along. This was a family altercation after all, and she had no place interfering.
Ginger thought, “Too flipping bad I am outside this grand house about to witness some issues firsthand. Thank God I am an only child. Did she have any family left? Doubtful, since she been alone so far in all this craziness.”
Stacey bailed out the car before Ginger could attempt to talk her out of whatever this was. She didn’t have a clue what Stacey was feeling or thinking, she built up a great wall.
Ginger reluctantly followed her up the steps and the door swung open to reveal Alkmene Kincaid. The similarities between the women was easy to spot.
Stacey says, “Can we come in?”
Alkmene seemed shocked by their presence but replies, “Why of course.”
She stepped back to allow them entrance. The inside of the foyer to the eight room house was a deep dark midnight blue, it could past for black.
The chrome and rich deep blue gave the place a cold vibe. This room was simply for greeting people or delivering packages, no more- no less. It wasn’t welcoming and Ginger couldn’t wait to escape. The house may be grand, but held no appearance of friendly welcome. They all sit on couches.
Stacey demands, “I want answers about my mom.”
Alkmene asks, “Do you ladies want tea?”
Stacey spits out, “No. Damn it. Tell me the reason why you don’t allow Jordan to the house?”
Alkmene shifts in her seat and replies, “His wild behavior. And those characters he hangs around with.”
Stacey asks, “What are you talking about?”
Alkmene answers, “He is a trouble maker. That is the end of discussion.”
Ginger responds, “Oh please. Jordan is a kind man. This is because he is gay!”
Alkmene gasps.
Stacey looks dumbfounded and asks, “Is it?”
Alkmene states, “Honey, We don’t discuss these sorts of things and especially not with strangers.”
Stacey answers, “She is my friend and my sister.”
Ginger smiles with proud and says, “I think we out to leave. We can find answers without disrupting this fantasy façade your aunt has going on.”
Stacey replies, “I think you’re right. Let’s go. This was a waste of time.”
They leave without another word.
Ginger thinks, “That had gone better then expected. At least the cops weren’t needed.”
Chapter Eleven:
Sitting in the car, Ginger didn’t need her powers to let her know Stacey was upset.
Ginger states, “How about a drive down to the beach? My mom always stated it solved any problems.”
Stacey grins and nods before saying, “Let’s do it.”
The girls spend the next three hours lounging on the sand. It was unexpected but very relaxing.
Once back in the car, Ginger checks her phone. Shit she forgot she was meeting Frost.
Ginger mumbles, “Shit, got to go.”
She took her messenger bag and dissolved into a shadow to meet him at Chipotle. The man loves his Mexican food. She laughs to herself when she gets there and glides into a dark alley to transform back into her human form.
Five minutes later, she is sitting next to him preparing to go over details about her Toyota Civic. It was a cheap car he got her and Crystal was parking it over now.
Ginger asks, “Crystal?”
Frost answers, “Yeap, the one and only.”
Ginger says, “So you forgave her?”
Frost smiles and replies, “Yeap. We’re giving it another go. Do you have an issue with that?”
Ginger responds, “And if I did? It’s your life and I just want out yo be happy.”
He smiles and gets up to hug her.
Crystal states, “Hi there.”
He pulls back and helps pull out a seat for her. She is next to him, when he retakes his seat.
Ginger replies, “Hi, Crystal. How are you?”
Crystal answers, “Better then Yvette when I left the office. She is a nervous wreck with her upcoming case, which I know she will win.”
Frost responds, “Keys, my dear.”
Crystal says, “Ah, right. Here.”
She hands them over to Ginger.
Wham. The precognitive vision hit her out of nowhere. It was Feltus attacking Jordan.
Ginger shakes her head and mumbles, “Fuck. This isn’t good.”
Frost asks, “What is it?”
Ginger stutters, “I just had a vision. I need to get to Jordan Lensherr like now!”
Crystal says, “I can get you his address if that helps. I have a few cop friends, Give me two minutes.”
She walks away already on her phone before Ginger could respond.
Ginger thinks, “This can’t be happening.”
Chapter Twelve:
Crystal was able to get Jordan’s address. He had a huge mansion in Malibu. Ginger thanked her and places the keys in her pocket with the phone. She ran to the bathroom, opened a stale before opening a portal there. It was the first time she was using magic without a guide.
That didn’t matter. All that counted was saving Jordan from Feltus’ grasps. That deserved caution thrown in the wind. Stepping out of the portal, the quiet was almost too much to handle. The sun was setting as she glances at the silent street.
She wondered, “Has he striked yet? Something most defiantly is off.”
Ginger took a deep breathe, cleared her mind and allowed magic to take over. The words to a spell formed and she recited them without hesitation.
She wonders, “What did I just do?”
Ginger casted a powerful spell that much she knew. The words came from deep within.
This innate magic could be dangerous, but she had to trust her instances.
Kyle says, “What are you doing here casting protection spells?”
She turns around to see Kyle and Jordan awaiting answers to her sudden arrival. Ginger jogs up to them, pushes them back inside and slams the door shut.
Without processing it, she explained everything with her mind and locks the door.
Jordan states, “That was intense. Are you certain?”
She gave him a scorn look.
Jordan replies “Got it. What do we do?”
Kyle expresses concern, “Fight. We have little other options at this point.”
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM.
So
meone was pounding on the door.
Kyle states, “It can’t be.”
Jordan says, “Not that quick.”
Ginger mumbles, “I am afraid so.”
She used her telekinesis to lower and dim all the lights in the house. The house is in pitch dark.
Feltus growls and shouts, “Three heart beats in the pitch dark. How I do love a good slaughter.”
Kyle grabs her arm, making Ginger jump at his sudden presence. He is shaking badly; she had never felt such fear in all her life.
Feltus yells, “Oh and I cast my own spell. I disabled any transportation occurring. So you’ll have to face me this time Ginger. I will tear you apart.”
Jordan entered her thoughts, “We can’t stop him on her own.”
Ginger replies telepathically, “I know.”
Kyle’s mind fuses with theirs’, “So we hide? That is comforting.”
Jordan answers mentally, “We have little other choices.”
Kyle sighs. Ginger could feel his frustration.
Ginger thinks, “Wait. If magic could stop us from leaving. Force him to go with magic. I have a plan.”
Jordan smiles at them. Kyle stops shaking finally.
Kyle thinks, “Now you are speaking my language.
Chapter Thirteen:
This plan wasn’t solid buy they had few other options.
Ginger hated separating from them, but there was no other way to excuse this plan. First she had to unlock the house with her powers to allow him access. Then the fight can begin and hopefully some answers.
She waited in a hall closet, thankfully Jordan allowed her to read his mind and take the layout of the house with her.
The tiny space didn’t lighten her worry, or slow down her rapidly beating heart.
Ginger wondered, “This isn’t the end. Face your fears, and make this sorry sack of crap regret the day he met out family.”
She smiles to herself, waiting into he uses his super hearing to get close. Ginger had read a report on missing psychics, so knew he had a lot of powers.
This psycho collected them and this was how she’d been preparing for this. Knowledge is power and the door busted open. There stood Feltus Witchburn.
She’d never forget this man’s face. He had taken everyone she loved away. He grabbed her arm, pulling her from the hall closet. The room suddenly became illuminated. Now was the time for answers.
Ginger asks, “So why were you after Penny?”
Feltus snarls, “I thought she was the one from the prophecy.”
Ginger replies, “You thought?”
Feltus laughs and answers, “When I touched her it was revealed. She was given her abilities. She isn’t a natural witch. Taking indigo powers has made me a powerful hybrid.”
He laughs some more and asks, “Ready to die?”
Ginger says, “What’s your rush?”
Feltus responds, “I suppose there isn’t. Continue.”
Ginger breathed a sigh of relief and asks, “What about Jordan?”
Feltus says, “Ah him. His mom and Stacey’s were powerful witch twins. One of them is the one from the prophecy. I just know it.”
Ginger gasps and replies, “But you’re not sure?”
He looks at her with revolution.
Ginger says, “What? Afraid you can’t kill me? I am the one from the prophecy.”
Feltus growls at her.
Ginger looks shocked and thinks, “He doesn’t know.”
She smiles and states, “You don’t know. Do you?”
Feltus says, “I am certain.”
Ginger responds, “Even with all those powers you are in the great unknown like everyone else. So twin witches can stop you? That is part of the prophecy I didn’t know. I just figured it out.”
He looks afraid. Ginger says a spell turning her body into flames, he snatches his hand away.
Ginger yells, “Run. Now! Go. Go. Go.”
He looks up to see Jordan and Kyle run out of the house. He looks pissed and his emotions are fuming. She runs at the door.
She says, “You lose.”
Chapter Fourteen:
Ginger pushes the door wide open, and is outside before he can catch her.
Feltus yells, “No!”
Outside is Aaron waiting with a ton of agents with guns. They were stalling him into Stacey got there with her dad and back up.
Ginger smiles and asks, “You’re move.”
His angry glare doesn’t scare her no longer and he turns into sand. The wind whisks him away and Ginger smiles to herself.
Aaron says, “Everyone okay?”
Stacey runs to her side and pulls her into a hug before stating, “Don’t ever scare me like that again.”
Aaron responds, “Yeah kiddo.”
Ginger pulls back and states, “It was worth it.”
Kyle walks over and replies, “She must have hit her head. We need a medic.”
Ginger shakes her head and answers, “I have a clue how to stop him.”
Stacey gasps and asks, “What?”
Jordan replies, “You sure?”
Ginger smiles and says, “Absolutely.”
Thirty minutes later, agents cleared Jordan’s house. Stacey called Jurnee and Peter to meet at the mansion. Ginger texted Lucy, Frost, Caleb, and Guadalupe.
Before Ginger could think to invite Hannah, she was suddenly there infront of her like always.
She thought, “Damn telepathic angel.”
Ginger smiles as she pulls her into a hug and states, “Missed you.”
Hannah replies, “It’s almost over.”
Ginger pulls back and gazes into her eyes before asking, “You sure?”
Silence.
Once everyone arrived, Ginger explained what occurred when she faced off against Feltus.
Penny asks, “What do you mean I wasn’t born a witch?”
Jordan says, “I can answer that. Give me your hand.”
When his eyes closed he said, “You were given magic.”
Penny asked, “By whom?”
Kara says, “The old witch queen, Danielle Harvey. Dani was the queen before Destiny and was an indigo, so in her dying moments can pass their essence on to another. Her legacy is Penny Belkins. You are in all intents and purposes, the next in line for the throne. If you want it, it is yours.”
Stacey says, “Fantastic. What about my mom?”
Ginger looks from Jordan to Stacey and responds, “It seems before your mom died she somehow released Feltus in the process. He isn’t normal. He was imprisoned and she released him. Feltus didn’t say how, he doesn’t remember. Perhaps he doesn’t know any more, but I do know his powers have limits.”
Aaron looked perplex and asks, “You certain?”
Stacey replies, “Of course she is. She read his mind when she was asking him question. This changes everything.”
Kyle says, “So twin witches. Where do we find a set?”
Stacey says, “Who says it is twins? It is witch indigos, who can stop him. Now that he knows his weakness, he’ll be collecting powers every which way.”
Ginger states, “She’s right, we lost our advantage. We need to figure something else out.”
Kara sighs and says, “Let’s call it am night.”
Everyone begins to pack up and leave.
Jordan tells Ginger, “You saved my life tonight. Thank you.”
Ginger smiles and says, “We save each other. No need to thank me.”
Kyle responds, “I think tomorrow you should come with me and Kara to speak to the queen. Get some answers.”
Penny jumps in, “I am coming with you. If anyone deserves answers it is me.”
All eyes turn to her.
Kyle states, “Fine. Whatever.”
Jurnee says, “She goes anywhere I go. We are attached at the hip.”
Kyle replies, “Whatever. The more the merrier.”
Ginger responds, “Tomorrow. Good night.”
Chapter Fifteen:
Later that night Ginger sat up in her bed writing in her journal. Today she came face to face with evil. There was no other way to describe Feltus Witchburn.
In time Ginger was slowly dissolving the layers to why he was killing and how she was mixed up in this huge mess.
She got an incoming call from Frost. She picked up on the fourth ring.
Apparently Crystal got a special two year assignment to relocate to Vegas. She was given all expenses paid and Frost was going to move down there and go to school there.
Ginger was speechless for a few moments.
She asked, “What about UCLA, your dream school?”
Frost laughs and responds, “I found love. My dream girl and I can go to the University of Phoenix. No big deal about changing directions in life.”
