  Cyrosphere 6: Scrambling Lives Together

  Chapter One:

Ginger stood there in total shock. How could they think Stacey was dead? She didn't want to believe, she couldn't considering the bond they shared didn't feel served.

She looked up at Mark and wished he'd believe her. If anyone she wished believed her, it was him. He always made her feel encouraged as she turn to look at Shalice. Shalice Kincaid didn't believe her own daughter was dead as she stood before a weeping Aaron Darkholme.

She wonders, "How could her stepfather believe that Stacey was gone?"

Ginger was expressing disbelieve while Aaron was in grief. Before she could react the anger from Yvette was hitting her full force. She hadn't recovered fully and her walls were down.

The downside to being an empath is she felt everything and at full force. Yvette was like a rocket about to explode. Yvette stood before her parents and looked at her mom dead in the eye.

The glare could melt ice. Yvette poked Shalice, who responded with an innate shiver. Yvette demands, "So you're alive and now you put my little sister in danger. You better find her!"

Icy words as the tears pooled down her cheek.

Shalice responds, "I will baby. You two are my world."

Yvette shrugs off the hug that Shalice tries to give and takes off upstairs. Ginger stares at Shalice in bafflement like the others here. Shalice rushed down the hall to the bathroom.

The door slams and locks. Ginger sighs and figures she'll handle Shalice first then talk to Yvette before she found Stacey.

Ginger tells Aaron to clear out everyone and she'll take care of all this family drama. She marches down the hall with renewed strength.

She thinks, "If I don't do this, who else will?"

Responsibility always seems to fall on her shoulders.

  Chapter Two:

Standing outside a bathroom where it wasn't technically her house, but the wife of the owner was a litter surreal. She knocked silently and wondered if Shalice even heard her out of all the commotion out here.

A few seconds ticked by and before Ginger could try again. Shalice clicked open the door and pulled her into the private bathroom. It was huge; the same size as her own why guests loved to come visit her. Aaron made this house feel so homey.

She wondered how Shalice knew it was her at the door and the look on Shalice's face must have given her away.

Shalice answers, "I cast a spell to see through the door, hoping it was Yvette coming to apologize but I appreciate you checking up on me."

Ginger smiles and says, "I don't mind. Are you okay?"

Shalice looks around the bathroom, smiles and replies, "Actually I am. I am home free from telepathic plants terrorizing me. It is a huge relief."

Ginger actually felt good and suggested, "How about we rescue your daughter and give the homecoming you expected."

Shalice grins and nods before stating, "Sounds like a plan to me."

They leave the bathroom and everyone gladly has left so she goes upstairs to check on Yvette.

Ginger hoped this would be as easy as she knocked lightly and entered before getting a response. Yvette was laid face down away from the door with ear-buds blasting Metallica. She couldn't help but smirk as she nudged Yvette.

Yvette pulls out her ear-buds, sit down on the bed as Ginger takes a seat alongside the edge.

Ginger states, "We need to talk."

Yvette snappily responds, "Isn't that what we're doing right now!"

Ginger clarifies, "Don't be cute. Your mom is back. More then that, she isn't dead. Why aren't you a little excited and remember I can read emotions before you attempt to lie."

Yvette sighs and answers, "She basically abandoned us so I have no reason to be jumping for joy."

Ginger states, "That isn't true and you know it. Maybe before you jumped down her throat you could have asked all these questions and got clarification."

Yvette replies, "True but then we wouldn't be having this lovely conversation."

Ginger rolls her eyes and says, "Alright Ms. Snarky. Your mom and I are going to try and find Stacey. Okay? Rest up and try to I don't know be constructive. Work on a case or try yoga."

She gets up as Yvette puts her ear-buds back in. Ginger thinks, "Oh I hope parenthood isn't this much fun."

  Chapter Three:

Now that Ginger has dealt with all these issues, she goes downstairs to see Shalice drinking tea with Aaron and laughing. Just like old times she suspects, when an idea of how to find Stacey pops in her head.

Her phone. She goes back upstairs, grabs it and texts Jensen to get back over here ASAP. He was here earlier but with all the drama he must have gone to a hotel or something.

Next was to figure out a list of people who would want to take Stacey since she was alive. Aaron could help with that so when she sat down and gave her theory, he got to work compiling a list.

Aaron nodded and states, "I'll go to legacy now and get a team on this."

Shalice asks, 'What should I be doing?"

Ginger says, "Don't worry. You'll be helping; we are just waiting on..."

  Jensen says, "Me."

They all turn to Jensen Saunders who teleported into the house. Shalice, who hadn't seen him in years, jumps up and pulls him into a huge hug.

That was a shocking response. They must have been friends as he pulled back from the hug.

Jensen says, "I can't believe this. You're alive. Can this be?"

Shalice smiles and answers, "It is and I am. I sense it. So you are her mentor?"

Her eyes had turned to me and I felt like I was under inspection. Ginger smiles as Jensen quickly explains the circumstances.

I have to interrupt, "So that is why I called you here. I am your avatar and Spider's but I don't much trust him no longer. Stacey is the avatar of Agnus Griffin, the original witch and elder. She has her own agenda but I am sure she knows something about Stacey's disappearance."

Aaron states, "I want you to be careful."

  I respond, "I will."

Aaron glares at me and says, "No really. If she is an elder, she isn't stupid. She might know where Stacey is but I don't want her found at your expense."

  I nod.

  Shalice states, "Let's go."

  My sentiments exactly.

  Chapter Four:

Luckily Shalice knew where Agnus lived because I had no idea. A quick spell opened a portal to Alabama, or at least the city's limits. It was the welcome sign on the side of the road and it was pitch dark so no one would see them using magic out in the open.

There was a magic barrier out here I could feel it. All I had to do was close my eyes to locate the entrance to wherever we were going.

There. Using my telekinesis I pushed to find the doorway, opened my eyes and let my magic open the way. A sign saying "Welcome to Planetiturium Magic City." We walked through the entrance way and I could tell that Shalice was impres
sed with my magic usage.

The barrier went back up once we walked through and I knew Agnus was powerful but not like this. Whatever she taught Stacey was not going to interfere with me finding my sister.

It was literally a city. People were walking around in their way to dinner, clubs or every normal day activities.

I slightly felt like I stepped into the Twilight Zone, as Shalice lead the way. Apparently she knew the way as we rounded a corner and came face to gate to a large bronze warning. There was a woman at a guard past behind the gate.

A sentry. Always alert and ready to pounce. It was none other then Imani Monroe. What the hell was she doing here? She opened the gate and hugged me like we were old friends. This was all very strange and I had no idea what I stepped in.

Shalice clears her throat and Jensen states they needed to see Agnus immediately. She looked uncertain but Shalice leaned in and said it was a matter of life or death which seemed to be the magic words.

In seconds we were personally escorted into the small four bed room house. I had to wonder, why a gate and a personal security fairy. Instead of asking, Jensen squeezed my shoulder warning me now was not the time to let me curious mind asking around where I shouldn't.

We stood outside a wooden door that cost more then my entire wardrobe. Standing outside her door, I had no idea how to handle the situation. I led Jensen and Shalice here with no actual real plan.

The door opened to reveal Oscar Whitelock and his smile faded when his gaze landed on mine. What the fuck was he doing here?

  Chapter Five:

A billion scenarios had just ran through my head but the last person I suspect to see was Oscar, my timetraveling avatar from the future.

In no way was I prepared for this. I trained him and yet here he is in leagues with Angus and should be consulting me, not sneaking around behind my back.

That wasn't totally fair since we hadn't spoken since his escape. He looked healthy and healed, must be due to some magic spell.

Angus wasn't in sight as he brushed past me, a slight touch warned me not to display any signs we knew one another. He was definitely going to have to explain this to me. Before I could attempt to turn my head Jensen was ushering me forward and Oscar was gone.

Shalice, Jensen and I sat down infront of Agnus large and intimidating desk. She didn't bother standing and just glared at us if were intruding on her night.

Shalice says, "We need to speak to you about my daughter Stacey. It seems she has been taken."

Agnus barely bats an eye and asks, "What make you think that? Oh and Shalice it is pleasant to see you well amongst the living."

I felt no warmth from her, just distance as if her emotions were shut off. Maybe she had special shields that it made it harder to get a clear reading on her but I doubt that was the issue here.

Agnus clearly states, "I don't know Stacey well enough yet we recently started her training. I always say a bright mind is the path to true power."

Her gaze was on me now when she spoke those last words, did she think she made a mistake picking Stacey, and rather she'll be training me. It wasn't like she had a choice; Spider declared he'd be taking over my training because we both shared the same ability.

Things were getting all mixed up and it was becoming harder to keep track of which side was the right one. Or even if there were sides and not just different philosophies.

I turned to look at Jensen who was quiet during this entire exchange. Shalice was the concerned mom who wants answers to the cold, distant Agnus who really had no part in Stacey's taking.

Totally off bases, it was time to change tactics. I apologized to Agnus and thanked her for her time which forced the others to follow my lead.

I hope I knew what I was doing.

  Chapter Six:

For some reason that didn't go according to plan but it gave me perspective. We were assuming this was some large insidious plan instead of the working of one, two, or perhaps a small group.

If that were the case which is starting to become my impression then I needed to change strategies.

Jensen asked, "What just happened in there?"

Shalice demeaned, "She knew something and you just gave up so easily."

Ginger states, "You don't think I know what I'm doing?"

Shalice responds, "Not quiet sure and this is my daughter's life we are talking about."

Ginger snaps, "Exactly. We were wrong. I was wrong. I admit that not let's move on and find her."

Those words seemed to erase all of Shalice's doubt which was good because she was sure to need her help later on. Right now she needed to be wrapped in her boyfriend's arms. She needed to be supported, loved and taken care of for a change.

She said goodbye and turned to a shadow and just breezed along Alabama back home. Well first Lucas' apartment.

He answered shirtless and boy was her libido turned on. Talk later, love and passion now.

Ginger jumped into his arms, kicking he door shut and his lips trigger lust all throughout her body. Tiny combustible fireworks went off as each parting of his firm lips matched her eagerness when his lips returned. They couldn't get to the bed fast enough.

Hours later on she was sipping water cuddled beside Lucas on his couch. She wore one of his buttons down shirts as a top and her undies. She was rubbing her toes along his legs as they told each other what happened today since they last spoke. Those felt right, like coming home to your partner with no facade or mask about what you needed. Lucas got her and that helped add layers to their relationship.

She awoke with a jolt. Oh crap, she felt asleep in his arm on the couch. She looked around for her pants and saw the clock on the microwave. It was 6:03 in the morning. How could she have slept so long when Lucas began to stir?

Luke yawned and says, "What's your rush? I was going to make waffles and turkey sausages, your favorite."

Ginger responds, "Some other time. I got to go. Aaron is going to be worried and don't forget Shalice is back. A new parental unit to be concerned."

Lucas grins and replies, "You are only 20 so of course you need to report to them. Slow down and eat and then go home to their wrath."

Ginger smiles and answers, "Compelling argument. Fine. I’ll eat before I leave."

Lucas fakes stabs his heart and declares, "Kill a man. I love sex, great food and dash out before your fantastic boyfriend can announce your book is being published."

Ginger totally stunned, turns and gaps at him. She falls back on the couch with a huge thump.

Lucas says, "It's going to be okay. Breathe. I can kiss you but CPR is not my specialty. Yes, it was that good that my boss wants me to draw up a contract like yesterday. You'll be a published author in nine days. Can you believe it?"

She barely nods as he gets up to cook breakfast with her still dazed at the news. Life truly was unexpected and wonderful. She just wishes she could tell Stacey the good news.

  Chapter Seven:

When she got home no one was awoke or worried about her like she originally thought. Aaron left a note stating he was getting a jump start on that list so he would be at the office all night. Yvette also had a note tapped on her door when she went upstairs to shower and change.

Gone for a run, be back later. Yvette went for a run that is productive but so not like her. She shakes her head and quickly showers and change. Back down stairs drinking a cup of coffee she couldn't help but wonder where was Shalice.

It wasn't like she had a cellphone to call her up. She left behind besides Jensen, maybe he knew where she was. Before she could think of calling at 7:24 am, she heard the doorbell.

She went to answer it and was stunned to see Oscar. Just the person who she needed answers from. Ginger hauled him through the doorway and demanded he explain.

Oscar says, "Can I sit and perhaps get a cup of coffee. It is rather early for me."

Ginger huffs and responds, "Fine a quick cup of coffee and a whole hella of a lot of answers."

  After
filling his mug with steaming coffee, he took a sip and took a stool next to her. Ginger stood with her arms crossed and glared at him.

Oscar states, "Fine, don't let a man enjoy a single sip. I was there to change the future. Adorsa is supposed to be on our side so seeing if Agnus knew any spells to allow me to cloak her from Piper."

Ginger sighs and answers, "That's it? Why didn't you come to me? I could have helped."

He takes another long sip and rubs the bridge of his eyes.

  Ginger asks, "What?"

Oscar clarifies, "Why I didn't tell you. You'll want to help. You are wearing yourself thin, trying to help everyone. Remember I am from the future so you're priority needs to be finding Stacey. How else can you be her godmother to her daughter?"

Ginger grins as she grips his shoulder. She asks, "Daughter?"

Oscar pries her hand free and says, "Yes, daughter. Stacey is pregnant with a little girl."

She jumps up and down in joy, more great news. This renewed her faith that she'll find her.

  Chapter Eight:

Now that she didn't have to worry about Oscar, she called Penny in the hopes she can help Oscar with the spell to free Adorsa. No harm in lending help with an all powerful witch.

After ending her call she saw she had a text from Haruki. Haruki Bishop is in one of her classes and an elf so maybe he knew a way to track Stacey that she just wasn't seeing.

It never hurt to ask. He said he'd come to the house and she gave him the directions when Yvette came home. The girl has been gone, who knows how long? It was now 8:26 and she was beyond later to work.

Ginger asks, "Shouldn't you be at work?"

Yvette says, "Nope. Took a personal day considering my sister is missing and my mom is back from the dead. Speaking of which, where is she?"

Ginger responds,” I didn't know you cared?"

Yvette huffs and rolls her eyes.

Ginger replies, "She is with Jensen. They are working on a lead and I am waiting for a classmate so I suggest you shower and change."

Yvette didn't bother answering and stumped upstairs. Gosh, it is like teen antes in here or something. Shaking her head as she pulls out Maggie by Stephen Crane. I'll finish this and start the Vampire Armand by Anne Rice.
