After waking up refreshed and regenerated, Ginger went through her normal morning routines. She went to the gym before she needed to pick up her clothes at the dry cleaners and shower at home. Time flew by as Ginger finished getting ready. Adorsa added curls to her hair, while Gretchen freshen her nail polish.
When it was time to go, Ginger looked like she was ready for the runway. The interview was at the Marriott hotel in Hollywood so Ginger used her powers to open a portal there.
Chapter 27:
Apparently Lore Inc was a new company that had a CEO who was richer then most Americans. The owner Keith Percy Mitchell had come from England and bought out a ton of businesses in a welcome to town notification.
Ginger read a few articles about this man and from what Lucas knew he was ruthless. He got what he wanted but Ginger hadn’t seen him or read anything recently. Here she was about to meet him and had to wonder why he chose her of all people.
The handsome guy at the security desk let her upstairs where they were meeting in the conference room. That was the easy part, now it was time to impress. He could change her entire life if she got this job. No pressure as she waited with all the paperwork.
She was ready and would impress this guy. No amount of money would deter her from her goals. Once Lupio mentioned this job, a part of her truly wanted it and was ready to achieve her dreams of having security from this high paying job.
“Ma’am,” said a lady in a suit who she hadn’t noticed enter. Ginger had been too distracted to sense her approach.
“Yes, I am ready” declared Ginger.
She stated, “Right this way. He will see you now.”
Ginger left the outside of the conference room to go into a huge private corner office on the top floor. The assistant made her scared after offering Ginger refreshment. Waiting for some guy who could decide her future felt horrible, but Ginger ignored her anxiety and tried to think of positive things to get her through this.
“Hi there, I’m Keith Mitchell,” said a man with a tailored made black suit with a pink stripped tie. The handsome mocha man had some beautiful green eyes that didn’t quiet seem to fit.
This man was different. He was an indigo, and she could sense the power running through him. He was about the some level as Adorsa or Lupio. Keith wasn’t as strong as her mentally or he was really good at hiding his true strength.
“So I see you can tell about me. You’re good,” Keith says with a slight hint of accent.
Ginger grins and asks, “So is this why you asked to meet me? You have been what? Gathering intel or something?”
“Ha, not at all. I may have some information that might be helpful to you on Jesse Flowers. The job is yours if you want it. I need someone to run the new hotel and think you’ll be the ideal candidate,” Keith states.
For a second Ginger can’t believe what she just heard. The only way Ginger could trust him is if Shane used his abilities to see if he were lying.
“Sure I’ll take the job, and as for the intel I won’t throw that away without listening to you,” states Ginger.
“Excellent,” smiles Keith.
I hope I am not making a huge mistake.
Chapter 28:
An hour later, Ginger had the location of the marble. A bank-accountant set-up in her name and the paperwork would be finalized in two hours. It’ll be faxed over so she could read through it at her leisure. Today had not gone according to planned.
She texted Shane and wanted him to go back with her when she signed the contract. Next she called Yvette, asking her to look over the contract once she got home. Yvette was more then thrilled she got the job and said of course she’d look it over. After they had a big congralatory dinner to celebrate of course.
Ginger texted Lucas about the dinner and be at the house once he got off work. Next, she called Stacey about the news, but had to go so she could figure out a course of action with the marble and involving Jesse Flowers.
Next Ginger texted Jensen to bring MaryAnne to the house. She called Shalice about the dinner, but first wanted Daniel and her help. They both agreed so she went home to change so to finish this. One way or another, no one else she loved would be in danger even at the cost of her own life.
Daniel and Shalice were at her door twenty minutes later, dressed in all black like two avenging angels ready for war. She gave them a quick run-down of what she knew before Daniel asked to see the train, but he didn’t have a vision like she did when she touched it.
Shalice says, “Don’t worry. It must have been meant for you Ginger. Not all experiences or psychic connections are the same.”
Ginger nodded and it was time to go. The dinner was in three hours if they made it out alive. If Ginger had to die with knowing that Claudia was no longer a threat to those she loved, it was a willing sacrifice she’d make.
Daniel told Ginger about Slumber Slate of DyGo where a vortex absorbs all lost magical things. It is a magical realm that can be found in the city of Icebay of Morbed, the world of magical creatures like fairies.
The vortex shifted around but inside it were lost items that people misplaced or intentionally left which somehow found there way there. The magical marble was the key as Daniel used his tracking powers to try and find the vortex, but nothing.
Daniel said, “Shit, nothing.”
“Why don’t you try,” responds Shalice who is looking directly at Ginger.
“Who me?” answers Ginger
Shalice shakes her head and replies, “Yes you. You are incredibly brave and self-less, so maybe you need to find it. We’ll wait here. Walk around and allow it to come to you.”
That seemed reasonable, so she promised she’d call once she found it. Ginger left them to search for the vortex.
Chapter 29:
Aimlessly walking around for an hour trying to detect some normal ripple was magic was pointless. It left her open and vurnable. Her walls and shields to block out emotions and thought came crumbling down.
All the thoughts of others bombarded her. The emotions overwhelmed Ginger, and it felt like when she first became powerless to Monica’s fairy magic. The fairy loaded her empathy powers which forced Ginger to take control and that made her reflect on losing Diego.
So much loss, she needed her walls. The emotions were running rampant as silence finally helped clear the clutter in her mind. That was nice. Ginger thought when she saw a fountain in the pavilion.
Ginger sat down. All that searching really drained her. Her body felt like it had been hit by a fret train. The train! Something about traveling kept nagging in the back of her mind. Looking around she saw a post office. No, could it be there?
Standing up and hearing Caleb’s voice telling her, push past the pain and fatigue. You can do it! The renewed energy helped inspire confidence as Ginger lowered the walls.
Ginger had to search to see if the vortex was here. The place had a lot of power emulating around it, but how could she get to thee marble? That was the question running on repeat in her head.
She looked at her watch, only an hour into the dinner. Time was running out. Ginger closed her eyes and let out a long exhale to release all the tension. You can do this; now think a second and the answer has to be here.
Even if things felt hopeless, she knew she needed to keep trying. Diego had believed in her and it got him killed. No, she couldn’t think like that. Somehow Ginger needed to let their deaths go. Her parents, Lucy, Diego, and Hannah believed Ginger can help the world and she has.
Now she needed to allow her mind to find away. The emotions and thought were no longer unbearable, but she could use all that to boost her own powers. Her courage and hope can save the day. Ginger pushes with her psychic walls down to see the vortex. It shimmered in and out of her extrasensory perception, as an item went flying outside.
Ginger wondered, what was that? It was to tiny to see. Before she could try again, the vortex vanished.
“No!” she shouted as a few people stared at her openly. Damn,
it must have shifted locations again. Ginger needed some fresh air before she resumed her search. If she could find it once, then it could be found again.
Sitting back at the fountain, Ginger looked down and there on the ground right infront of her was the marble. It looked like an ordinary marble, but she knew it had magical properties. “What the hell,” she thought.
Chapter 30:
Before she could hesitate or second guess what she saw, Ginger touched the marble. It felt like power. All she sensed was what allowed her to see the vortex in the first place, an unlimited source of power.
Emotions could be more useful then magic or even the dark entity. That was why the dark entity couldn’t be destroyed. It had a balance, positive emotions and somehow that allowed her to gain access to the marble.
She quickly called Shalice, and Daniel ran toward her caring Shalice. In the blink of an eye, both were there. Ginger looked at her watch, thirty more minutes before she had to be home. Ginger opens a portal to the Flower house in Silicon Valley.
Daniel and Shalice jumped in with Ginger following. As Ginger stepped out of the portal, here she was waiting for them. Daniel and Shalice were held by each of the twins to match gender. Jesse seemed unapologetic about being here.
The thing that Nora appeared to be was a blank wall of darkness. It was Claudia Soledad Aranda, the Alpha that Ginger had her eyes on. The dad who was he? She squeezed the marble to allow her a glimpse into the past.
Dr. Musashi Oliver Kane and Claudia made them .he was a symbol of hope and goodness, how could he be attracted to her? Somehow the universe had a sick sense of humor in opposites attracted. Okay, that was her way in. Ginger projected his face into the minds of Nora and Jesse Flowers.
Nora barely flinches a muscle and laughed if you can call it that. It was a mixture of a cackle and a howl. Claudia grins obviously believing she trumpeted before the battle even begin. One thing Ginger learned from Brutus Vladmir Creed, never celebrate into your enemy is either dead or has no way to recover.
Ginger held the marble, felt its power as she sent the memories locked inside back to Jesse. Jesse didn’t seem to want to face his past or believe that Musashi loved his children. Years with Claudia had done a real number on these two.
It was obvious Nora had no heart or soul. Jesse was the ticket, so she used all her willpower to make him see his mom abusing magic and inflicting pain onto others.
Jesse yelled in agony, releasing his hold on Daniel as he grabbed the sides of his head. He pulled at his hair and fell to the ground. Ginger threw the marble at Claudia who caught it easily. She smiled but it was Ginger who would have the last laugh. Ginger used her psychic energy to crack the marble, releasing all the love that Jesse had for Musashi.
It was toxic to someone like Claudia who thrived on magic and power. Jesse threw an electric –bolt at Nora. Shalice turned to her and her eyes glowed yellow. Ginger felt a spell coming on and used it at the same time as Shalice which caused Nora to turn to stone. Shalice pushed the stone carved figured that was once Nora and it crackled, falling to the ground.
Ginger used her mind and magic to make the pieces vanish inside the vortex. Nora would never be a threat to anyone again. Jesse jumped up and ran full force at his mom. Claudia yelled when his skin made contact with hers’. The pair turned into a swirl of blinding white light as they turned to atoms.
That was it!
His positive energy and her destructive nature caused a balance to erupt both of them into basic atoms. It felt good to finally be free of all these threats.
Chapter 31:
Ginger made it to dinner right on time. Sure there was tension with Aaron’s wide bringing her soulmate / boyfriend Daniel. MaryAnne had tried to kill Shalice so that didn’t help matters. Stacey had baby Judy which was a nice distraction for everyone.
After dinner, Ginger and Yvette made her way to the study so they can talk about the contract. It was legit and she would take the job as manager of the hotel.
Next Lucas had taken her for ice cream. She got rocky road and Lucas got pecan praline where they traded off on flavors. That night after getting a snack, they went back to the apartment for a little fun. After sex, Ginger turns to Lucas and grins. “Yes, I’ll move in with you once I finished the degrees I want to focus and I love living with the girls right now in the moment,” Ginger states.
Lucas kissed her and when he pulled back. He looks into her eyes and says, “I love you and will wait as long as it takes as long as I can have you in my arms each night when I close my eyes.”
Her heart fluttered from his soul-filling words.
The next day when Ginger tried to summon Spider, it didn’t work. She tried every spell and incantation she knew but nothing. Finally, Ginger used her mind to try and project her spirit into Spider’s mind but it didn’t work.
So it was true, he was dead. She was in complete disbelief. Next Ginger didn’t tell anyone that she was going to contact Raymond Harman. She was the only one with memories of him. Opening a portal to find his location, where Ginger met him. Time had changed him but he was still the sweet guy she remembered.
Sadly Ginger had to be the one to deliver the news that Spider was dead. How come she didn’t feel his lost or death? Raymond promised to tell the Vornholt family, there was no reason for Ginger to be the one to tell his family he was dead. Ginger was thankful, hugged him and said goodbye.
At least now Ginger can find him whenever she wanted to see him. Once back home Ginger had her whole life ahead of her.
Two and a half years later passed.
Ginger could not keep anything down. She canceled her afternoon class, not up to teaching if this cold was kicking her ass. Leaving her downtown office in the Marriott hotel, Ginger called Lucas to tell him she was headed over to the Darkholme mansion and see him later at their apartment.
Once inside the house, Stacey took one look at her and gasped.
“What?” Ginger asked.
Stacey jumps up and down before stating, “I’ll be back. Go upstairs to my room be back in ten minutes.”
Ginger could not ask her a question when Stacey teleported away. Ginger shrugs and ate a saltine cracker as she waited for Stacey to return. Moments later, Yvette and Stacey came running into the room.
“What is going on?” Ginger demanded.
“You need to take this immediately,” declares Yvette.
Stacey handed her a pregnancy test. Shaking her head, Ginger had been very careful since that one slip up about three years ago.
Ginger says, “I think you made a mistake. I have a cold that is all.”
Stacey looks at her and responds, “When is the last time you had your period?”
“You sure it is just a cold and not something else?” Yvette asks.
Ginger took a moment to consider this when she goes into the bathroom to take the two testes in the box. She set a timer on her phone to count down two minutes. Before Ginger allowed a minute to pass, she took the other two in the second box to have a definite answer. There was no way she was pregnant, she just wanted to make sure no false-positives.
The alarm went off. There it is, just look and find out your future.
