Jurnee says, “I asked Demetrius to turn me so I can be strong and not forced in a gender role of passiveness and find my soulmate”.

This was all fascinating but Ginger wanted to know what the point was. Jurnee smiled patiently like a parent would do an impatient child for interrupting. The woman was poise and now she began to see the royal qualities begin to manifest.

Jurnee went on, “That she and her soulmate have been reincarnated a few times in the past and this would be the fourth time. The last time her man had died right before she decided to change her destiny by become a vampire”.

Ginger asked, “Do you ever regret your decision”?

Jurnee replies, “No. I never regret my decision and now I am hard to kill. Hopefully I can find my beloved as a vampire gives me the advantage to live longer and have the resources to find my other half”.

Ginger believed in rebirth and life after death but to meet a real live example in the flesh was astonishing.

Stacey says, “I have exciting new. I know where your beloved is. She is an indigo and draw their reconnection”.

This was the first time the calm Jurnee changed and the passion in her eyes was evident that she was the real deal. Ginger was sure now that Penny’s drawing was of the future and here was the other half claiming to be her destined partner. She had loved Diego deeply but doubted he was her only chance at happiness.

Perhaps Ginger would meet an equally great man that she could fall in love with. Closing her eyes and allowing her mind to clear to try and seek her intervoice for guidance. It was telling her to help Jurnee but also give Penny time to adjust to everything before they all decided to play matchmaker. Stacey agreed and Jurnee allowed them to help her out on when to make her next move. Ginger sighed a few breathes of relief and now Jurnee would help them out in return as a favor. She has resources everywhere and would be glad to put Feltus in the ground.

  Chapter 33:

Ginger thought, “It seems Feltus was making enemies everywhere”.

She didn’t know if she should be grateful or worried she was following the same path. It was time to go.

Stacey suggested, “Jurnee look into Crystal to be safe”.

Ginger nodded her head and was sure Victor was a good vampire. Maybe she just misjudged him due to his loner personality and the grief of her parent’s death. Stacey got a text from Aaron; it seems Malcolm was the one who was giving a psych test to Penny at his place. It seemed Stacey asked her father to keep her updated. Imani was going to also ask Malcolm to transport her back to her world so Feltus couldn’t track them.

A portal was the safest insurance of transportation. Imani was powerful drifter between realms but her powers have limits such as being tracked. Ginger grabbed Stacey as she changed them to shadows and off into her past they went. Once back on her street Stacey looked at her unsure if she should offer her moral support or wait until Ginger needed it.

She turned to Stacey with a fake smile and said, “I am fine”.

Stacey nodded and was stunned this was the first time Ginger had read her mind when her shields were up. Telepathic walls and psychic shields were of little use if both seeing them walk up the street truly wanted read thoughts.

Malcolm opened the doors right up for the girls and Stacey introduced herself. Once the pleasantries were exchanged Ginger hugged him because it was wonderfully nice to see him again. Penny came over to Ginger reaching out for her hand and in that moment of contact Ginger felt a surge of her abilities amplified.

That had only happen one time before and it cost Monica dearly. She thought was Penny’s unique indigo ability to amplify powers as she pulled her outside to the garden for privacy from the others or was the psychic net the reason behind that power surge. She directly asked Ginger since she was straight with her.

Penny asked, “Who were these people”?

Ginger explained, “Imani is going to take you into protective custody in another dimension and Aaron was going to join due to the fact he was her superior and wanted things to run smoothly. As for Stacey, she was her to see her father while this was Malcolm’s house so she called for his location”.

Malcolm was also a witch who has decades of training in medicine and literature. He was going to do some type of spell to block Feltus from finding her. Imani had already had her father picked up from work and relocated.

Penny says, “I refuse to go anywhere. I am a spellcaster and can protect myself if need be”.

  That was debatable.

Ginger suggested, “Malcolm can do a spell to cloak her from Feltus”.

That was a terrific idea and everyone could agree with but her living arrangements were an issue. Malcolm agreed to do a cloaking spell and Penny would stay with the only person willing to risk their life for her. Jurnee.

Stacey came up with that part and Ginger had to agree. Imani and Aaron left shortly after Malcolm cast the cloaking spell which was up to the girls to rationalize that Penny could trust Jurnee. Seeing how she draw this woman and now would be staying in her mansion, trust was needed.

She was in no way happy about this arrangement and Ginger was glad for her telepathic wall to block some of her thoughts and feelings. Jurnee had them bring Penny by the mansion with a few things. Penny properly met the woman she drawn and Jurnee would be protecting her at all cost.

Penny reluctantly let the girls leave. Stacey had to copy notes from a classmate and Ginger needed to get home to prep for the exam tomorrow as they parted.

  Chapter 34:

The night went by uneventful and once Stacey got home they all ate dinner together. After dinner Ginger was happy to do the dishes so she could relax her mind and concentrate on the simple task. Back in her room Ginger wrote in her journal and listened to some Breaking Benjamin before bed.

Night flew by quickly and Ginger awoke five minutes ahead of her alarm. Nervous over the test Ginger went over her flashcards on her way downstairs. Stacey had whipped up a huge breakfast so she could review. Stacey let her borrow the car as Yvette drove Stacey to school.

Hours later once Ginger was through with the test she was headed outside the testing center and digging in her purse for her make-up. She was going to retouch her make-up when she saw a missed call from an unknown number and a voicemail. She dialed her voicemail and the familiar voice belonged to Jurnee letting her know that her contact got back to her and Crystal had ran a full background plus DNA test on Ginger.

This stunned Ginger and she deleted the message before calling Jurnee back. Jurnee verified the information she received but Ginger had to go. She called Yvette but her phone went straight to voicemail so perhaps she was in court or something. She looked at her watch and Frost was in class so she had to wait another twenty minutes before his class ended as she baked her fists.

Anxiety rushed through Ginger’s blood as she took a few deep breaths unclenching her fists. This was insane as she didn’t know who to turn to or what this all meant. Only two minutes had gone by so the hell with waiting. Ginger looked around and was along in the deserted hall before she turned to a shadow and shot up into the sky. Focusing all her energy on finding Crystal gave Ginger a major headache before going towards her location in the courthouse.

The courthouse was in Huntington Beach as she turned to solid outside by the bushes in the parking lot. She walked inside and straight to the mind she was pursuing. This headache vanished once Ginger saw Crystal and knew her rage was clouding her judgment. Crystal saw her across the breakroom.

Ginger says, “Crystal we need to talk”.

  Crystal’s smiled diminished.

Crystal introduced her saying, “This is Felicia Sayhria Prince another attorney I work with”.

Ginger could tell she was also a witch by her thought pattern. Felicia shook hands with her and saw Ginger’s angry face so excused herself to handle some briefs.

Ginger asked, “Why had she been looking into her past”?

Crystal quickly answered, “That I was inde
pendently hired by Malcolm”.

That shocked Ginger and from reading this fairy’s mind she knew it was the truth.

Ginger thought, “Wait how did she read her mind”?

She had felt a surge of her abilities since contact with Penny and was able to break her barriers.

Ginger asks, “I want to know what you found out”.

Crystal said, “Your parents aren’t who they say they are. They were her birth parents but she wasn’t a demon like her parents told her”.

Ginger’s parents were like Aaron a low caster, natural magic users with little magical powers.

Her world was turned upside down again. She needed to hear these things from Malcolm and didn’t care who saw her use her powers as she turned to a shadow. Crystal was left behind with a mad Ginger racing toward Malcolm’s house. Her phone had rang while she was traveling but she ignored it. Once outside his house, she didn’t bother to knock and let herself in with the keys she still had. Malcolm was in his kitchen making fajitas while he looked up at her.

  Malcolm says, “Hello Ginger”.

Malcolm cut off the stove when he saw her angry face.

  He asked, “What’s wrong”?

That question bugged her because he truly seemed to care and that didn’t make sense. She didn’t need her powers to see he was concerned.

She demanded, “I want to know why you researched my past”.

Malcolm sighed and walked into the living room. She trailed behind as they sat down.

He explained, “Your parents were probably in hiding and someone must have found them and that was why they had died. They heard a version of the same prophecy he knew she read and wasn’t sure if she was indeed the savior. Her parents contacted a powerful demon when she was six or seven when she showed signs of telepathy. The demon had given her his blood continuously. She was part demon from the blood and part fairy from Monica now”.

Malcolm wasn’t sure if she was the savior or not but was looking out for her best interests.

Ginger got up and left. She needed time alone to process all this information.

She thought, “Who was she and why would her parents lie to her for all these years as she walked down the street”.

Ginger couldn’t even begin to understand what was behind all this deceit except her parents must have been trying to protect her. Ginger has demon blood in her that was why she believed she was demon but she was also witch so things were becoming complicated. She was confused when she realized she had one place to go. Turning into a shadow again as she drifted off. She decided to float to the beach and turned back solid. Tired of walking down the beach she decided to sit down on the sand to watch the wave’s crashing unsure of what to do next.

The end of book one, continue on this journey with Ginger and find out what happens next.
