  Stacey asks, "Such as?"

Ginger sighs and replies, "It involves your mom."

Stacey looks like the color drained from her face, as Ginger pulls her into a hug.

Stacey between cries says, "My mom is dead. What could you have to tell me?"

Ginger pulls back from the hug and answers, "This is going to sound crazy, but you're mom is alive."

  Chapter Eight:

It had been an entire two minutes as Stacey sat in stunned disbelief. Ginger was allowing her a few moments to process everything.

  Stacey asks, "Are you sure?"

Ginger shrugs and says, "Not exactly."

Stacey demands, "So why the hell would you give me false hope?"

Ginger replies, "Any hope is better then a lifetime of doubt."

Those words silenced Stacey and allowed her a few moments to think things through.

Ginger says, "I talked to Piper Granes-Sharp. She is the one who replaced Feltus Witchburn for some odd reason I believe her. It has been a few incidents that suggest she isn't trying to harm me, or any of us. That Feltus was behind most of all that. And since she came into power, why haven't crime risen?"

The silence that followed confused Stacey as much as Ginger who has been contemplating this.

Stacey suddenly states, "To have us lower our guard and then strike. A brilliant move if you ask me."

Ginger shakes her head and responds, "What I originally thought but she already warned us so not much of a surprise there. Is it?"

Stacey nods and answers, "This is all crazy."

Ginger smiles and says, "I know. We can solve that mystery later. How about we save some witches, what do you say sis?"

Stacey grins and states, "Absolutely. Let's go see the queen."

Ginger replies, "I think not. That was so helpfully a bad move last time. Pass."

Stacey chuckles and responds, "Not Destiny. The other queen."

  Ginger nods and gestures, "Okay."

  Chapter Nine:

This time they went to see Queen Shadey. Ginger was confused as Stacey drove to downtown Los Angeles. She parked at USC and Ginger had no idea why she brought her to school. They walked across the street from campus towards the museum.

Ginger was getting anxious and asks, "What are we doing here?"

Stacey replies, "She is close. A student at Dark Force University."

Ginger gasps and says, "You got to be shitting me! How did I not know this?"

Stacey laughs and responds, "Few do. She is a low-key queen. A woman of the people; sort of like how I hear Danielle Harvey was."

Ginger says, "The total polar opposite of Destiny."

Stacey laughs and states, "That diva needs an entourage and the entire world to know where she is at. Is it no wonder Mark has to protect her all the time?"

Ginger never thought of that and how much Mark has to sacrifice his life to protect a vain person. Sure she didn't know Destiny personally, but most of the impression she got was not positive."

Shadey Wilema Andrews was a normal twenty eight year old witch. The only difference was the fact she was a queen since being a witch was like running the world, large and had unexpected layers and required lots of structure.

Destiny was one way but Shadey was a total opposite. A queen that was writing to her people via her personal assistant. The mail was always answered and showed a level of sincerity that Destiny was lacking. The 5'4 caramel skin beauty was in a floor length yellow dress and had a smile that was peaceful.

That was the one word Ginger could use to describe this woman. A vision with a zin vibe and the closer she got to Ginger, the more Ginger felt as if Shadey must be partially an angel.

  Chapter Ten:

With that thought, Ginger needed to speak with Hannah. She summoned the telepathic angel by calling her with her mind. It was a buzzing in her mind that she sent out to make Hannah come towards her.

The more control Ginger had gained; the easier it was for her to use her powers. Being able to summon Hannah wasn't a small task, but a few minutes later she was walking toward her. The woman had appeared outside the museum and came toward their small group.

Stacey had got up to go back inside with Shadey to look around and give them privacy.

The privacy was needed because Ginger had a few questions to ask her guardian angel.

Ginger demands, "Did you know Shalice Kincaid is alive?"

Hannah answers, "She isn't my charge. I don't concern myself with others unless they come into contact with you. I am supposed to protect you."

Ginger nods and asks, "What can you tell me about Project Human Development?"

Hannah exhales and responds, "That its owners are fascinated by you. I can't watch everyone that is interested in you, but I try my best."

Ginger takes a moment to realize that maybe all the dangers she faced were a fraction of those that were really after her.

Ginger asks, "Do you know about the murderers?"

Hannah nods and says, "Yes, whoever it is has escalated his or her murdering. Be careful and watch out for Stacey."

Ginger responds, "I will. Do you know what happened to Oscar?"

Hannah looks confused and asks, "Who's that?"

Ginger sighs and beings to unravel her tale. When she finished, Hannah looks concerned and that terrifies Ginger.

  Ginger asks, "What is it?"

Hannah answers, "You say a timetraveling person goes missing without a trace. No word or pep from a revenge seeking twin Hunter Cotner and constant mentioning of PHD. I would most definitely watch your back."

Ginger nods and soon Hannah gets up to leave her with her thoughts.

  Chapter Eleven:

Before Ginger could comprehend everything Hannah said, Stacey returns with the queen.

Shadey says, "We need to talk. I need to take your hand."

  Ginger replies, "Okay."

She was hesitation, as Shadey sits next to Ginger. Stacey follows and sits next to them.

Stacey states, "You have to try it. I did."

Ginger nods and answers, "I trust you."

Shadey warmth washes over Ginger were there fingers interlocked. The energy around Shadey intensifies and helps amplify Ginger's psychic abilities. It was a rush, like words could not describe the over-whelming sensations running through her mind.

She had felt magic and the psychic knit but this was something entirely different. It was as if she was deprived of oxygen and breathing for the first time.

The air was fresh and she felt Shadey in her mind. A tiny voice, so not a telepath or psychic like herself or Stacey. Ginger followed the voice and heard Shadey instruct her to focus on whoever it was she wanted to find.

That was complicated. Who to find? Piper, who was an uncertain threat. Shalice, possibly dead or somewhere waiting to be reunited with her daughters. Or find Oscar and see why he vanished without a word.

Before she could concentrate on one of them, she had three separate destinations and felt dizzy so let her hands free. The spinning made Shadey disconnect from whatever she had just done, which forced Ginger back into her body. A slam and she didn't realize she let go or that her nose was bleeding. The light-headed effect captured her full attention as she slipped and fell into somebody's arms.

The last thought Ginger had a man's arms.

  Chapter Twelve:

A few minutes later, a damp towel was places on Ginger's forehead as she began to stir.

Ginger opened her eyes up to see a dashingly handsome Luke smiling down at her with

  her held tight to him.

  She wondered, "What happened?"

Stacey was sitting patiently but Ginger didn't have her walls up and knew she was worried about her. The bloody nose and passing out aren't good signs.

Ginger says, "I am okay. We need to hurry."

Luke demands, "No you need to stay put and rest."

Ginger shakes her head which makes her wobbly.

She tries to stand and states, "La
ter. Lives are in danger."

Stacey responds, "Those are the magic words. Take it easy."

Ginger nods as they help her up. She replies, "We need to get home now. It's Hunter, he is after Yvette."

  Stacey asks, "Why?"

Ginger answers, "She is magic. He is trying to use a powerful witch to extract all the knowledge Oscar has."

Luke asks, "Who is Oscar? Why not use Mark?"

  Stacey says, "Luke!"

Ginger answers, "Oscar is my friend. And indigo witches work differently so any spell he tries would only work on regular witches. Open a portal now!"

Stacey started mumbling in Latin and a purple vortex sucked them inside before Ginger could distinguish between up and down. Feeling woozy, she stumbles toward and a chair and Luke helps her. Luke was always by her side, willing to protect and reassure her when needed. Stacey was on alter and looking around the house to see if anything was off.

Ginger says, "Don't worry about me. Hurry, Yvette. I will be checking in with my mind."

Stacey and Luke run upstairs to see Hunter trying to restrain her with a magic wipe.

Stacey looks at him and builds up energy like she did when she killed Feltus. She shattered his body to ash and pieces that disintegrated the matter that was left. It was powerful, and frightened her.

But someone was after her sister. Without a second thought Hunter growled and yelled in pain as he was burning from the inside out. His enflamed body was beet read, and slowly spreading toward his face. The skin burnt off the bones and ash was lift in its wake. The entire corpse vanished as if he never existed and she let's out a huge breathing and wiped the sweat from her forehead that had developed.

Stacey looks from Yvette, who is scared shitless to a shocked Luke.

Ginger thinks, "Yeah, watching her unleash that power is scary and mind-numbing.

  Chapter Thirteen:

Aaron and Peter rushed home once Stacey called them and filled them in. Ginger was still a little light-headed, but Aaron insisted she see Malcolm. He made the call while waiting she held Luke's hand to comfort her.

Yvette was still wondering why he chose her. Ginger filled in that piece of missing information as she explained that a friend of hers' had been taken the day Feltus died, and that Hunter wanted to get revenge since his wife Elani was locked away.

He resents this family and wanted all his knowledge to not only kill Ginger and the Darkholme family, but free her.

Aaron tells Ginger that Riley got her clearance but she could visit the prison in a few days when she was filling better. Ginger agreed needing time to recuperate as the door bell rang.

A still shaken Yvette let him in, and Malcolm checked everyone out. Stacey was still reeling that her new ability was so lethal. Yvette was thankful to be alive, but would take it easy at work and learn to use her magic.

People were constantly after her family and learning to defend herself was a good thing, so Aaron would help her with that project. Thankfully Ginger had too much on her plate to take on any more. She was fine and kissed Luke goodbye, shortly after Malcolm left.

He wouldn't leave into the doc said she was fine and gave a clean bill of health.

Alone and upstairs, Ginger closes her door and sits on the bed. She clears her mind and projected it towards Oscar who vision was a bloody mess. The man refused to help Hunter, who decided to use his body as a punching bag.

Oscar says, "I'm fine. Thanks to you. Get some rest and I'll visit you in a few days to check up on you."

Ginger nods and opens her eyes allowing that vision to vanish. She was glad he was okay and got cleaned up and ready for bed. Too exhausted to shower, she slipped into bed and fell fast asleep that night.

  Chapter Fourteen:

Ginger awoke with a startle. She looked up at the clock and saw it was only 8:02 in the morning. She used the bathroom, went through her yoga routine.

She packed a bag for later; hiking with Lupio. Ginger stripped her bed and trudged downstairs to wash them. She ate scrambled eggs and French toast with the family. It was her favorite and Yvette was more together this morning. Once showered and dressed, her sheets were done so she made her bed with fresh sheets before leaving for school.

At the end of classes, she pulled out her almost dead phone. Told Luke she see him tomorrow since he had meetings all day and was unavailable. Made her way to the Toyota to drive up to Runyon Canon to hike with her bestfriend.

After a good hour of hiking, she and Guadalupe went to the gym. It was back and leg day, so they did another intense hour of weights. By the end of their workout, they were beat as they headed to the showers. The dinner they had was healthy and Ginger enjoyed his company before something struck her.

If she was looking for Oscar and intercepted Hunter from going after Yvette. He is not the killer, but she never did check up on Toby Queen and Kara.

Ginger gasps and looked up at Lupio in horror.

  Lupio asks, "What is it?"

Ginger practically yells, "We got to go."

She sent him everything she knew with her mind. He got up the same moment she did, but threw a few twenties on the table as they ran out the back door. She looked at him before both took a moment to transform into a phantom shadow figures.

Gliding off into the night, she didn't know how but Ginger knew Kara was at Jordan's mansion and they dropped outside and turned back into their human forms.

Before she could take a step forward, Guadalupe places his arm out in front of her to stop her and she looked up at him in confusion.

  Ginger mouths, "What's up?"

  Lupio answers telepathically, "Trouble."

She didn't mistrust his instincts but wondered why the demon in her didn't sense danger?

  Chapter Fifth-teen:

Now linked telepathically, Ginger wondered what their next move should be. He moved from infront of the house to the side which seemed obvious from drawing attention to themselves.

She wanted to link minds with the others, to see if they were alright. It seemed like a good idea, Guadalupe reminded her that if someone had attacked here the best bet was to keep distance incase things turned from bad to disastrous.

Ginger had to agree. She sighed and they waited a few moments to see if anything out of the ordinary took place. A scream was heard inside and she knew that voice, it belonged to Kara and that made their plan irrelevant. Ginger looked at him, his face reflected horror at how she felt. The pain inside was too much to ignore.

They charged the house at the same time; Guadalupe slammed the front door in. Ginger didn't both going beyond the foyer to recognize that smell. It would haunt her the rest of her life, blood but it was dried. Which only meant death had been here hours ago and the person in the house had hours to rot.

She closed her eyes to black out the horror before her in the dinning room area. Last time she was here, she managed to stop Feltus from doing just this. Ripping lives apart, killing everyone that comes in his path. Total destruction and she felt the tears start pouring down her face.

Opening her tear stained eyes, bodies mutilated. Jordan had his hand firmly attached to Kyle's, so she knew they had to have died first from the smell. One of Kyle's arms was ripped from the socket connecting the elbow to the arm. It was gruesome, unnecessary havoc and a new horror show that was embedded in her memories.

Kara's body had to be warm since they heard the scream come from her, but the blood pooling freely from her mouth was something else. Kara had multiple stab wounds to her torso, why she was crying out in pain. Guadalupe stood as transfixed to this unholy sight they were witnessing.

  Call the police.

She pulled out her cellphone, called Aaron and waited outside. Unable to stand this horrific image a second longer. The only thought racing through her mind was WHY?

  Chapter Sixteen:

The clean-up took no time at all, which shouldn't surprise her. She had sad that Kara never got to introduce her to Toby. Lupio showed her the photos he snapped. G
inger apparently missed the message of blood on the wall, I have the list. All indigos are next.

That stumped Ginger into he explained that the office was torn upside down. They came for a list of indigos, since Jordan seemed to know everybody and this worried her. She looked at him in fear.

He must be thinking the same thing. She wanted answers, so they said goodbye. Ginger didn't bother saying bye to Aaron. She opened a portal and stood outside the Malibu mansion. She knocked and waited in the dark of life and this situation.

This time it was Riley Echolls that answered and not Alkmene Kincaid. The same disgust showed on his face at her intrusion, so Ginger pushed pass him inside ignoring her usual calm self and let rage take over. She called out Alkmene, who came around the corner.
